EXCLUSIVE: Voltage Pictures has taken global rights to apocalypse horror movie Monsters starring Ella Balinska.  Voltage will launch global sales for the film at the American Film Market in Las Vegas, NV, which runs Nov. 5-10.

Monsters follows a mother (Balinska) as she fights to lead her two young daughters to safety across 20 miles of unforgiving terrain in a perilous post-apocalyptic world teeming with relentless, zombie-like creatures. Glenise Mullins wrote and directed. The pic is rolling cameras in January.

Balinska gained recognition as a lead in the Charlie’s Angels reboot alongside Kristen Stewart and Naomi Scott, and later headlined Netflix’s Resident Evil series. Her performance in Run Sweetheart Run premiered to critical acclaim at Sundance. Next up, Balinska will star in Voltage Pictures’ Marked Men (Rule + Shaw), which releases early 2025.

Mullins’ writing credits include some of the most high-profile award-winning series, including The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (Amazon), The ContinentalFrom the World of John Wick (Peacock), Star Trek: Discovery(Paramount+), Surface (Apple TV+), Warrior (HBO Max), Outer Range(Amazon), and Invasion (APPLE).

“We are thrilled to collaborate with such exceptional talent,” said Nicolas Chartier, CEO of Voltage Pictures. He added, “Ella brings a unique blend of intensity and vulnerability to her roles, making her the perfect fit for this emotionally charged story. Glenise, with her remarkable storytelling expertise, has crafted a haunting vision that will captivate audiences worldwide. We couldn’t be more excited to bring their combined talents to the screen with Monsters.”

Mullins added “Monsters is a deeply personal story for me as a mother. It’s not just a harrowing tale of survival but an exploration of the raw, instinctual drive to protect those you love at any cost. Its themes are universal — love, sacrifice, and the enduring hope that fuels us, even in the face of overwhelming darkness.”

Balinska is repped by UTA and Entertainment 360.
