Voltage Buys Action Project 'May You Live in Interesting Times' (Exclusive)

Voltage Pictures has picked up May You Live in Interesting Times, an action spec written by Tony Jaswinski.

The Picture Company, the newly formed shingle topped by Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman, is attached to produce. Voltage’s Nicolas Chartier and Craig J. Floresare also producing.

In a similar tonal vein as Lucy, the recent Luc Besson action hit that starred Scarlett JohanssonMay You Live is a female-centric thriller that aims to be stylish and visceral.

The story revolves around a highly trained female operative who works for a ruthless global intelligence organization and who is dispatched to Hong Kong to take out an older associate. A no-one-gets-out-alive scenario ensues when the young assassin realizes she has met her match.

Luke Goltz and Jaswinski share story-by credit.

Voltage is aiming to move fast on the project with hopes of shooting it early in 2015.

The writer and the producers are continuing their respective hot streaks with this spec sale.

Jaswinski, who is repped by Paradigm and Circle of Confusion, sold the shark thriller spec In the Deep to Sony two weeks ago for a high-six-figures sum.

May You Live marks the third project Rona and Heineman have set up since launching their new venture at the beginning of the month. It is also the second project the two have with Voltage; the thriller Home Invasion, starring Bella Thorne, is in post.
