Amazon Prime Video picks up ‘After’ sequels exclusively for online in UK, France

Amazon Prime Video has secured UK and France rights from Voltage Pictures to After We Fell and After Ever Happy, the next two titles in the Afteryoung adult series.

It will launch the two films exclusively on the online platform, despite previous installment After We Collided having been a box office hit in the UK when cinemas were open last autumn.

Release dates for the films are yet to be confirmed.

Adapted from Anna Todd’s series of young adult romantic novels which launched on online writing platform Wattpad, the After series follows the will-they-won’t-they romance between Tessa and Hardin. The third chapter After We Fell sees Tessa prepare to move to Seattle for her dream job, only for Hardin’s jealousy and unpredictable behavior threaten to end their relationship.

Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin lead the cast of the series, which across the upcoming sequels also includes Louise Lombard, Rob Estes, Arielle Kebbel, Screen Star of Tomorrow 2019 Chance Perdomo, Frances Turner, Kiana Madeira, Carter Jenkins, Mira Sorvino, Stephen Moyer, Angela Sari, Atanas Srebrev and Anton Kottas.

The two films are directed by Castille Landon and produced by Jennifer Gibgot, Brian Pitt, Wattpad’s Aron Levitz, Voltage Pictures’ Nicolas Chartier and Jonathan Deckter, CalMaple’s Mark Canton and Courtney Solomon. Executive producers are Andrew Panay and Eric Lehrman.

Despite the first film After not having received a UK-Ireland theatrical release, After We Collided was a box office hit in the territory, overcoming social distancing measures and cinema closures to gross £3.7m ($5.1m) when released by Dave Shear’s Shear Entertainment. It took $48m (£34.5m) worldwide.
