‘After We Collided’ Trailer: Spicy Preview Of ‘After’ Sequel Dropped By Voltage Pictures

Voltage Films unwrapped a sweet digital success today with the release of a spicy Valentine’s Day trailer. The racy preview for After We Collided was released this morning and already has surpassed 2.5M hits on YouTube, stirring up social media interest in the upcoming sequel to After, which was a profitable hit last spring for Voltage.

After was based on the namesake YA romance novel by Anna Todd and the author makes her screenwriting debut with the sequel effort, partnering with Mario Celaya on the script. Fans of the romance novels call themselves “Afternators” and today they pounced on the trailer for the smoldering saga.

The first film was made on a lean $14 million budget (before P&A) and went on to rake in $70 million in worldwide gross, with 83% of that coming abroad. Last April, After opened at No. 1 in  17 offshore territories including Germany and Italy.

Roger Kumble (Cruel Intentions) is the director of After We Collided, which was produced by Todd, Jennifer Gibgot (17 Again, Step Up), Mark Canton (Den of Thieves, 300), Courtney Solomon (Cake, An American Haunting), Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker), Brian Pitt, and Jonathan Deckter.

The cast features Josephine Langford (After), Hero Fiennes Tiffin (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), Dylan Sprouse, Charlie Weber (How to Get Away With Murder), Candice King (The Vampire Diaries), Karimah Westbrook (Save the Last Dance, Suburbicon), Rob Estes (90210), Shane Paul McGhie (Deputy), Samuel Larsen (Glee), Dylan Arnold (Halloween) and Khadijha Red Thunder (After).

The official synopsis: “Hardin will always be… Hardin. But is he really the deep, thoughtful guy Tessa fell madly in love with — or has he been a stranger all along? She wishes she could walk away. It’s just not that easy. Not with the memory of the passionate nights they spent together. Still, Tessa’s not sure she can endure one more broken promise. She’s focused on her studies and just starting an exciting new internship at Vance Publishing. She’s also being pursued by Trevor, a handsome new co-worker who is exactly the kind of guy she should be with. Hardin knows he made a mistake, possibly the biggest one of his life. He wants to right his wrongs and overcome his demons. He’s not going to lose Tessa without a fight. But can he change? Will he change… for love?”
